Eventide Reach is a small god game. You raise land out of an empty void, and people turn up and work out what to do with it.

No win state, no fail state, no ending. It just keeps running.

Shape the land

Sculpt freely — raise hills, carve valleys, level ground, drown it. Everything else reacts to the shape you leave. Your world starts as one small island under a dome, and expansion stages buy back more of the surrounding dark.

Your followers do the rest

Nothing your villagers do is scripted or placed by you.

  • They settle where the land makes sense, level the site themselves, and raise huts from wood they fell and stone they quarry.
  • Huts become housing, housing becomes families. Villagers pair up, raise children, grow old and die of old age.
  • They wear paths into the ground — walk a line often enough and it becomes a permanent road. New buildings face the nearest one, so a grown village reads as streets rather than a field of boxes.
  • Wood and stone buy a building; the building yields something nothing else can. Piers bring in fish, mines bring up ore, and ore is what makes your shrine grow and widens your reach.

Your powers

Belief is the only thing you spend, and your followers generate it by worshipping. Powers unlock as your congregation grows: Sculpt from the start, then Rain, Expand World, Smite and Divine Guidance.

Guidance biases the choices your villagers were already making — it never overrides them. Point it at a cliff and nothing happens. Your real veto is the landscape: sculpt the ground below the water line under a hut you dislike and the sea takes it.

The world pushes back

No rival tribes — the environment is the whole antagonist. Droughts that outlast a single cast of Rain, storms that scale with the size of your world, dry lightning with no rain behind it to stop the fire, and wildfire that takes buildings with it. Burnt ground stays burnt, so a bad fire is written into the map long after it is out.

Before you download

All of the art is placeholder — every model is low-poly stand-in geometry, the god hands included. Everything described above is built and playable; it just doesn't look like itself yet. The art pass is next.

Windows 64-bit, free, installer or portable zip. No .NET install needed. Saves and settings live in %APPDATA%\GodSim\, so an uninstall leaves your village alone.

Made solo in C# with Raylib-cs; terrain, textures and most of the audio are generated in code at startup. Storm recordings from the royalty-free 99Sounds "Rain & Thunder" library.
